Civil Union – Follow-ups
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Anton Kovalskyi as acting Prosecutor General following the dismissal of former Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, according to a presidential decree issued on Thursday.
The change came after Kravchenko resigned and parliament approved his dismissal, following an investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) into a case involving one of his subordinates, who is suspected of helping conceal fraud linked to fraudulent call centers.
Reuters confirmed that Kravchenko himself has not been charged or named as a suspect in the case, and he has denied any involvement.
Kovalskyi, 42, had headed the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor’s Office since July 2025.
