Nigeria | Anti-Graft Agency Dismisses More Than 40 Employees Over Corruption | CUAC
Civil Union – Follow-up Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has dismissed more than 40 of its employees over the past two and a half years due to their alleged involvement in corruption cases and financial misconduct. The EFCC Chairman, Olukoyede, said that more than five of the dismissed employees are currently standing trial, while case files for other cases are being prepared ahead of legal action against those involved. He stressed that the measures are part of the agency’s efforts to strengthen integrity and accountability within the institution responsible for combating corruption, emphasizing that EFCC employees cannot fight corruption in the country while engaging in corrupt practices within their own organization.
