Civil Union – Follow-ups Sri Lankan MP Namal Rajapaksa appeared before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) today, Friday, to give his statement as part of ongoing investigations into allegations of corruption and bribery. Rajapaksa was summoned as part of an investigation into allegations related to a deal to purchase wide-body aircraft for SriLankan Airlines. Rajapaksa’s appearance before the commission was confirmed as Sri Lankan authorities continue their investigation and hear from parties connected to the case. Appearing before the investigating commission does not mean that any wrongdoing has been established, as the appearance is part of the official procedures for investigating the allegations.
