India: Anti-Bribery Reporting Platform Shuts Down After Receiving More Than 5 Million Requests in 48 Hours | CUAC
CUAC – News Monitoring
India's anonymous bribery reporting platform, Bribes.fyi, has been shut down indefinitely after experiencing an overwhelming surge in traffic within a short period.
The anti-corruption platform said it received more than 5 million requests and attracted nearly 200,000 new users within just 48 hours, placing significant pressure on its technical infrastructure.
According to the platform's developers, the decision to suspend operations was driven by concerns over their ability to securely manage such a large volume of sensitive data, as well as fears that the platform could be misused.
Bribes.fyi allowed users to anonymously submit reports about alleged bribery demands by providing details such as the government agency involved, the amount requested, and the position or official allegedly connected to the incident.
Reports emphasized that the submissions represented allegations made by users and should not be considered legal proof that acts of corruption had occurred.
