Civil Union – Follow-ups
Taiwanese lawmaker Chen Hsueh-sheng, a member of the Kuomintang (KMT), was released on bail of NT$2 million after being questioned as part of an investigation into alleged corruption.
Authorities suspect the lawmaker of allegedly claiming salaries and allowances for non-existent parliamentary aides, in addition to allegations that he intervened on behalf of a company that had provided financial support to one of his aides.
Authorities stressed that the case remains under investigation and that the allegations against the lawmaker have not been established by a final court ruling.
