The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission in Kenya announced the inclusion of 32 corruption-related cases before the courts, during the period from October 26 to 30, as part of the authorities’ efforts to combat corruption and protect public money.
The cases include accusations of misappropriation of public funds, unjustified enrichment, rigging government tenders, forging documents, and illegal seizure of public lands.
Among the most prominent files raised is a case related to a government contract worth 351.1 million Kenyan shillings, in addition to a lawsuit to recover assets with an estimated total value of about 1.2 billion Kenyan shillings, against the backdrop of suspicions related to their sources and legitimacy.
These measures come within the efforts of the Kenyan authorities to enhance accountability, prosecute financial violations, and recover public assets, while the accusations remain subject to judicial procedures and rulings of the competent courts.
