South Africa: Corruption Case Involving Football Association President Returns to Court Amid Efforts to Begin Trial | CUAC
Civil Union – Follow-up South African Football Association President Danny Jordaan and four other accused individuals returned to the specialized commercial crimes court in Palm Ridge today, Thursday, in a fraud and theft case involving the association’s funds. Jordaan and his co-accused face charges related to the alleged misuse of more than 1.3 million South African rand in association funds. Prosecutors allege that part of the money was used for Jordaan’s personal benefit, including private security and public relations services. The prosecution is seeking to move the case forward to trial, while proceedings remain stalled due to appeals and legal procedures filed by the defense concerning delays in resolving the case. The trial proceedings are expected to begin on November 27, 2026, while the accused deny the allegations against them. Source: Eyewitness News
