CUAC – Monitoring Desk Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council announced the seizure of more than $20 million, 200 million Iraqi dinars, the recovery of 60 kilograms of gold, and the confiscation of seven vehicles as part of an ongoing corruption investigation involving former Deputy Minister of Oil for Refining Affairs Adnan Al-Jumaili and several other individuals linked to the case. According to the investigative judge at the Central Criminal Court for Anti-Corruption, the operation was carried out in coordination with the Kurdistan Region and resulted in the seizure of cash, gold, and vehicles through efforts to trace financial assets connected to alleged misappropriation in several projects. The Iraqi judiciary stated that the case also involves current and former members of parliament, government officials, contractors, and department directors. Arrest and search warrants have been issued against several suspects after legal immunity was lifted for some of them to facilitate further investigations.
