UK: Two Officers Arrested, Bringing Total Detained in Police Federation Corruption Probe to Seven | CUAC
Civil Union – Follow-up
In a new development in the British investigation known as Operation KUAT, the City of London Police arrested two serving police officers on suspicion of involvement in a case concerning fraud and bribery within the Police Federation of England and Wales.
The City of London Police said the arrests were among four carried out on 18 August 2026, bringing the total number of people arrested since the investigation began to seven.
Authorities had previously arrested three people in March before expanding the scope of the investigation, which is being conducted by the City of London Police’s Economic Crime Directorate.
The investigation focuses on suspected fraud and bribery within the Police Federation of England and Wales, which represents police officers across England and Wales. No formal charges have been brought against the suspects at this stage.
Police stressed that the investigation remains ongoing and that an arrest does not constitute proof that an offence has been committed. All those arrested remain legally presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
