Indonesia | Anti-Corruption Agency Seizes More Than 6 Billion Rupiah in Investigation into Bali Immigration | CUAC
Civil Union – Follow-up
Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized more than 6 billion Indonesian rupiah as part of an investigation into alleged corruption and extortion related to the issuance of residence permits for foreign nationals.
The seizure followed the questioning of the Head of the Denpasar Immigration Office, R. Haryo Sakti, along with two other immigration officials, on Friday.
The KPK said the seized funds are suspected to have been collected by several immigration officials from foreign nationals seeking residence permits, in addition to the officially prescribed fees.
The action is part of a broader corruption investigation into the management of foreign nationals’ residence permits during the 2022–2026 period. The investigation has previously resulted in eight people being identified as suspects, while the amount allegedly collected through extortion is estimated at around 145.5 billion rupiah.
