Civil Union – Follow-up
The Indian Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches today, Wednesday, at 18 locations across Karnataka, including premises linked to the state’s Public Works Minister, Satish Jarkiholi, his daughter and Member of Parliament Priyanka Jarkiholi, as well as locations associated with others.
The operation is part of an investigation being conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), concerning allegations of transferring funds outside India and tracing the movement of those funds.
The Enforcement Directorate confirmed that the current investigation is separate from a previous corruption case involving the state’s liquor administration, which involved several officials, including a relative of the minister.
The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities have not yet announced any final findings establishing that the individuals involved committed any offences.
